Porsche is collaborating with Kopernikus Automotive to test how autonomous driving can be used in the workshop.
The test field is the company’s premises in Ludwigsburg, and the system primarily relies on artificial intelligence. Camera sensors are a key element, with the test site including the surrounding workshop being converted into a virtual representation to train an artificial neural network. The artificial intelligence is trained using data.
The test field consists of a customer service hall and forecourt, with the vehicle driving autonomously from the parking space to the lifting platform and back. Mechanics use a tablet to move the car into position.
Tests are designed to prove the feasibility of autonomous driving in the workshop and give Porsche valuable information about using artificial intelligence.
