Autel, a developer and manufacturer of automotive diagnostic tools, has launched its latest ADAS calibration solution, the MaxiSys IA700 ADAS calibration frame system. It features a modular, compact design incorporating functionalities such as wheel alignment pre-check, optical positioning and unlevel floor compensation.
The IA700 system is designed to be adaptable to various service environments, including glass, mechanical and collision repair shops, and mobile technicians.
Key features of the IA700 include a robotic crossbar equipped with six high-definition tracking cameras, which facilitate target positioning and compensate for uneven flooring. The frame can also be easily disassembled for transportation or storage.
“With the IA700, we have taken the best attributes of previous systems – the compactness and mobile attribute of the MA600 mobile frame, the wheel alignment pre-check and optical positioning of the IA800, and the unlevel floor compensation and holistic approach to vehicle repair and calibration of the IA900 and the MaxiSys diagnostic platform – and created a new industry standard,” said Stewart Peregrine, senior executive of ADAS sales at Autel.
The system also includes an alignment pre-check using embedded cameras and targeted wheel clamps to assess the vehicle’s current alignment specifications and compare them with the manufacturer’s standards.
An optical positioning feature also uses cameras and positioning software to align calibration targets to the vehicle, designed to reduce setup time and measurement errors.
Uneven floors can also be compensated for by using a rolling compensation process, aiming to ensure accurate calibration even on non-level surfaces.
“Optical positioning transforms the calibration process completely. With its repeatable method of quick and easy target placement, it leapfrogs the OEM tools in terms of efficiency and precision, greatly simplifying the process for technicians at all levels,” Peregrine added.
A guided ADAS application supports the calibration of newly released vehicle models not yet covered by Autel software, with step-by-step instructions and the option to use OE tools and subscriptions via the Autel Remote Expert platform.
The IA700 is available in three packages, with options to include or exclude the MaxiSys 909 diagnostics and ADAS calibration software. These packages can address calibration needs, from basic wheel alignment checks to comprehensive ADAS system calibrations, including radar, lidar, night vision and camera systems.
