TÜV Süd has granted ISO 26262 certification to three of dSPACE’s tools designed for ECU software validation. The company’s VEOS, Real-Time Testing (RTT) test automation software and Platform API Package can now be used in safety-related development projects according to ISO 26262:2018 for all automotive safety integrity levels (ASIL).
The newly certified tools will simplify the qualification of processes according to ISO 26262. Companies can now easily and efficiently deploy VEOS, RTT and the Platform API Package in safety-critical projects. Furthermore, safety manuals will be supplied to support deployment.
VEOS is a PC-based simulation program designed to validate ECU software. It enables the simulation of an array of models, from functional models and networks of virtual ECUs to bus systems and vehicle models.
The RTT Python-based real-time test automation software can be used for hardware-in-the-loop and software-in-the-loop testing.
The Platform API Package provides interfaces to the dSPACE platforms – including VEOS and SCALEXIO – and enables model access and management. Each of dSPACE’s solutions is used during the development of safety-relevant systems and has been developed to help users establish functional safety.
“With certification, we take a lot of effort out of our customers’ hands when it comes to ISO 26262 compliance,” explained Jann-Eve Stavesand, head of consulting at dSPACE. “Since the testing and validation of ECUs is particularly important in this context, we ensure that simulation and validation deliver trustworthy results.
“In addition to the newly certified tools, the AutomationDesk and SIMPHERA tools have already been certified to ISO 26262, so we have now taken another step forward in our strategy of providing customers with the best-possible support for their tool qualification.”
