Audi will be showcasing the future of in-car entertainment for autonomous vehicles at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), where it will present a vehicle featuring a movie theater.
With autonomous driving technologies promising a future where drivers become passengers who can spend time on their journeys enjoying entertainment rather than looking at the road ahead, Audi will “turn the inside of the car into an amusement park”.
The Audi stand at the Las Vegas Convention Center between January 8 and 11, 2019 will feature a full-sized car with new technologies inside that demonstrate how more connected vehicles of the future will be in a position to offer an entertainment experience to passengers. The car will be able to provide entertainment such as Hollywood blockbusters or streaming services while stationary in an immersive experience.
“The brand will present a completely new on-the-road entertainment format and a special movie theater experience inside a luxury saloon on its show stand. Both technologies represent the in-car entertainment of the future,” Audi revealed in a press release.
“Thanks to automated driving, in the future occupants will have free time in the car, enabling them to use the next generation of in-car entertainment. Welcome to the next-generation drive-in movie theatre.”
