Automated driving technology company AImotive’s aiSim simulator has been approved for developing autonomous systems.
The simulator has been certified to TCL3 according to ISO 26262:2018, by TUV-Nord. It is the first system to achieve this certification.
TCL3 enables the aiSim simulator to be an integral part of a development and verification tool up to ASIL D.
Szabolcs Janky, head of product management for aiSim at AImotive, said, “By relying on our in-house developed simulation tool AImotive has created a unique continuous integration – continuous delivery software development pipeline for safety critical automated driving software. It is one of the few purpose-built simulators to handle the complexities of simulation for automated driving development.”
The certified tool means AImotive can continue testing its products even when road testing is not possible due to COVID-19.
