Innoviz Technologies is showcasing its high-performance lidar sensors and perception software for automotive applications at CES 2024. Visitors can witness live demonstrations of the technology alongside a BMW i7 and Volkswagen ID. Buzz, both integrated with Innoviz lidar solutions.
The BMW i7, equipped with Level 3 autonomous driving capabilities enabled by the InnovizOne lidar, is available to order in Germany, with deliveries set to commence in March 2024. The Volkswagen ID. Buzz, a light commercial vehicle program, utilizes InnovizTwo lidar for Level 4 autonomous capabilities.
Omer Keilaf, co-founder and CEO of Innoviz, expressed excitement about showcasing Innoviz technology and partnerships at CES: “Our partners are prioritizing safety by choosing our lidar technology that allows vehicles to see what humans and cameras cannot. It is our belief that our lidar ensures unparalleled protection for passengers, pedestrians and other vehicles on the road. Together, we are building a safer future.”
Live demonstrations at the booth feature the second-generation InnovizTwo lidar sensor and the recently introduced Innoviz360. The company says that the latter offers enhanced performance and an innovative design that addresses the limitations of existing spinning lidar technologies in terms of performance, size and cost.
In addition to demonstrations, pre-scheduled test drives of Innoviz’s lidar technology aim to showcase its real-world performance and safety enhancements in automotive applications.
