Rockwell Automation, which specializes in industrial automation and digital transformation, has expanded its collaboration with Nvidia to develop safer and smarter industrial AI mobile robots.
Building on their ongoing partnership to enhance AI in manufacturing, Rockwell and Nvidia are now focusing on robotics and look to improve the performance and efficiency of autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) through AI integration. Rockwell will use the Nvidia Isaac robotics platform to bring AMRs and production automation applications to industrial customers, enhancing factory efficiencies and unlocking potential in the sector.
Rockwell is also integrating the Nvidia Omniverse Cloud application programming interfaces (APIs) with its Emulate3D software, to provide user data interoperability, live collaboration and photo-realistic graphics rendering, aiding in the design, construction and operation of industrial-scale digital twins of production systems.
As part of the expanded collaboration, Nvidia has joined the Rockwell Automation PartnerNetwork, providing Rockwell customers with more applications to enhance their operational resilience, agility and sustainability.
“We’re invigorated by this continued collaboration with Nvidia,” said Ryan Gariepy, CTO, OTTO Motors by Rockwell Automation. “Rockwell’s industrial AI expertise, combined with Nvidia AI and robotics technologies, is going to help drive an exciting new generation of autonomous mobile robots.”
