Featuring open-air facilities and 5G live data streaming, Autonomous Vehicle Technology Expo will take place in Hannover, Germany, June 22 & 23, 2021, in response to industry calls to ‘get the show back on the road’ from the autonomous vehicle test and development community in Germany.
“We’re receiving a lot of encouragement from ADAS and AV testing teams and technology suppliers who urgently want a chance to see the latest simulation and testing systems for AV development, as well as software and hardware solutions for autonomous applications, including the latest sensors, AI and sensor fusion, stack developments, and a lot more,” explained show founder Tony Robinson.
“With the switch to Hannover for this year [June 22 & 23, 2021], we get the biggest single benefit for a Covid-19-averse audience: an open-air facility made possible by Hannover Messe’s EXPO-Dach wooden roof, which provides 16,000m2 of open-air meeting space under the world’s largest freestanding wooden roof,” continued Robinson. “There is also some conventional exhibition space using four halls with very low-density exhibition booths and lots of free-flowing fresh air; freight doors and entrance and exit doors will be fully open throughout the event.”
Meeting spaces will comply with safe social distancing guidelines, with all seating spaced at least 1.5m apart plus the use of 7m-wide aisles.
“It’s not conducive to maximum utilization of space, however this configuration allows us to run the expo according to safety guidelines,” concluded Robinson. “Special features will include 5G with live data streaming of test vehicles on the public highways around Hannover (as part of the Test Bed Lower Saxony for automated and connected mobility) direct to exhibitors’ meeting zones and booths, plus some live demos going on at the Messe during the show, also utilizing 5G.”
