Tata Elxsi, an engineering and design firm, has collaborated with software company Red Hat to advance application mobility in 5G multi-cloud environments for telecommunications companies and mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs).
This strategic alliance aims to accelerate the deployment of Tata Elxsi’s Connected Vehicle Platform (CVP) applications within a 5G multi-cloud framework using Red Hat’s OpenShift container platform as a common container-as-a-service (CaaS) layer.
The partnership will integrate Tata Elxsi’s Neuron, a multi-layer automation platform, to facilitate cloud automation, 5G application placement and modernization. The collaboration will also focus on 5G connected vehicles, using Tata Elxsi’s Tether CVP platform and Red Hat’s In-Vehicle OS to introduce edge analytics and in-vehicle data processing and management with machine learning operations (MLOps).
Vivek Tiwari, vice president of Telco 5G business unit at Tata Elxsi, said, “Telcos are leading the way in creating customer-focused services and adopting new network technologies, that require a shift toward cloudification, hybrid/multi-cloud adoption (Red Hat as a uniform CaaS layer across multi-cloud networks), DevSecOps, AI/MlOps and end-to-end automation.”
The companies say the goal is to assist global operators in monetizing their networks through innovative applications in automotive, healthcare and other sectors.
“We are excited to enable this with Tata Elxsi and Red Hat together. We enable Telco 5G Multi-Cloud Automation with Edge Analytics to deliver a distinctive service for our clients,” added Tiwari.
