At this year’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, car manufacturer SEAT will be taking the wraps off a brand-new vehicle, developed as a mobility platform.
Looking toward a future where vehicle ownership and urban driving is set to drastically change, the Spanish car maker will premiere its urban micromobility strategy with the 5G Connected Car concept vehicle.
SEAT, as part of its drive toward next-generation driving, will present the initiative in collaboration with Telefonica and the 5G Barcelona project for collaborative, autonomous driving, which promotes the Spanish city as one of the European capitals of the cellular technology. The 5G Connected Car pilot test will see communication between other cars and surrounding infrastructure.
“Mobility is changing, and our role as a manufacturer and provider of mobility is changing with it. We must be able to manage and offer new mobility platforms that will be the key players in cities of the future. SEAT is heavily involved in several projects of this type and the MWC is the perfect backdrop to make them known to the world,” said SEAT president Luca de Meo.
