XPeng Motors, a high-tech automotive company, is showcasing its latest breakthroughs in smart EVs and AI at Auto Shanghai 2025.
During a press conference, He Xiaopeng, the chairman and CEO of XPeng, said, “Today marks a strategic evolution for XPeng – we’re not merely launching products but fundamentally redefining what an automotive company can be. Through our AI Tech Tree, we’re building an integrated ecosystem where breakthrough innovations like our 5C Supercharging AI battery, Turing AI chip and IRON robotics converge to create intelligent mobility solutions that learn, adapt and transform transportation experiences.”
Advancing AI mobility
XPeng’s next-generation ‘AI brain’, the XPeng World Foundation Model, features 35 times the parameter count of conventional VLA (vision-language-action) models. The system’s self-optimizing capabilities enable real-time adaptation to unfamiliar driving scenarios.
During the press conference, Xiaopeng introduced the new Super Long Range Max Flagship Edition of the company’s AI-defined XPeng P7+, equipped with XPeng’s groundbreaking 5C Supercharging AI Battery technology. This innovation delivers a 420km range with 10 minutes’ charging time, while achieving an energy efficiency of 12.7kWh per 100km.
Following the launch event in Hong Kong on April 15, XPeng has begun worldwide deliveries of its 2025 X9 MPV. The updated model incorporates 496 enhancements, including what are claimed to be the industry’s first walk-through zero-gravity seats and standard high-level autonomous driving capabilities.
