Internet of Things (IoT) development and validation company Concept Reply, in collaboration with technology company Intel, has launched an AI solution to increase the safety and efficiency of autonomous vehicles.
Using the companies’ collective expertise, the AI solution is designed to enable precise traffic light detection.
The solution, known as CARLA, acts as a platform designed to simulate complex car sensor functionalities, including GPS, Lidar and accelerometers. CARLA is designed to facilitate precise simulations of various driving scenarios, such as night-time driving and different weather conditions.
To ensure CARLA’s reliability, Concept Reply, which is part of the Reply network, brought in Intel to embed intelligence and AI in the simulator. The companies say that due to the current shortage of GPUs, integrating Intel’s cloud instances allowed the platform to scale to accommodate varying numbers of vehicles during peak hours while also conserving resources.
In addition to safety applications, CARLA is suitable for individuals with color blindness or color vision deficiencies (CVD).
