Infineon Technologies has become the first chip maker to set up a dedicated production process for flip-chip packages for the automotive market.
The OPTIREG TLS715B0NAV50 is more than 60% smaller than established reference products including the TSON-10, while thermal resistance stays the same.
The device is suitable for applications with limited board space such as radar and cameras.
The TLS715B0NAV50 provides 5V with a maximum output current capability of 150mA.
Strict space requirements from the growing number of radar and camera systems means that smaller power supply solutions at higher quality are required.
Infineon claims it does not rely on a qualification of existing consumer and industrial products, but on a dedicated production process for automotive devices.
