Building on their ongoing collaboration, Zeekr and Mobileye have announced plans to accelerate technology localization in China, integrate Mobileye’s advanced driving safety and automation technologies into next-generation Zeekr models, and “further their state-of-the-art driving safety and automation” in China and global markets.
Since late 2021, Zeekr has delivered over 240,000 Zeekr 001 and Zeekr 009 vehicles equipped with the Mobileye SuperVision platform to customers worldwide. To better meet the growing demands of Chinese consumers, the companies plan to “accelerate the scaling and delivery of core underlying technologies” for the SuperVision platform.
The expanded collaboration will see Zeekr use Mobileye’s road intelligence technologies across its vehicle range. Zeekr engineers will also have enhanced access to Mobileye’s technologies and development tools, in order to facilitate data validation and software upgrades.
The partnership will also adapt other Mobileye technologies, such as the Driving Experience Platform (DXP), for local use. The DXP is designed so that auto makers can customize automated driving styles and customer experiences.
Andy An, CEO of Zeekr, said, “The collaboration with Mobileye has delivered industry-leading intelligent mobility solutions to Zeekr users. We will continue to strengthen this cooperation to achieve new technological milestones and enhance the driving experience for our global users.”
Additionally, Zeekr and Mobileye will leverage their combined technologies to develop solutions for ADAS and autonomous vehicles (Levels 2+ to 4), using the EyeQ6H system-on-chip.
Zeekr says it also plans to extend the installation of the SuperVision platform to additional vehicles, including future models, and expand the coverage of its existing Navigation Zeekr Pilot (NZP) systems. Currently, highway NZP, based on SuperVision, operates in over 150 cities across China.
Professor Amnon Shashua, president and CEO of Mobileye, said, “This new chapter in the Mobileye and Zeekr relationship will bolster the localization of our SuperVision technologies in China and make these advancements available to our customers. It also broadens our cooperation to include next-generation products across a wide range of automated driving levels.”
