Karma Automotive has partnered with Nvidia and WeRide to offer a Level 4-capable platform for electric commercial vehicles, as part of a suite of modular architectures designed to provide low-cost, time-efficient routes to market for OEMs and technology companies.
It uses an energy-efficient, scalable computing architecture from Nvidia, capable of 320 trillion deep learning operations per second, paired with a sensor suite from WeRide, comprising 360° lidar, radar and camera, with GNSS and INS positioning.
Kamalesh Mohanarangam, program manager at Frost & Sullivan, said, “Many OEMs have realized that by using a standardized platform, they will be able to save a huge of amount money and time. All their efforts could instead be diverted into differentiating the vehicle from the competition and focus on more important aspects such as comfort and convenience.”
