dSPACE, a provider of solutions for the development of connected, automated and electrically powered vehicles, has announced its acquisition of Intempora, a specialist in real-time development software.
The two companies already had a long-standing strategic partnership, leading to the integration of the Intempora real-time multisensor application software RTMaps into several dSPACE solutions. Through this acquisition, dSPACE says it now offers a unique, comprehensive and reliable end-to-end solution for customers in the automotive industry as well as optimized support for their innovative development projects.
The company explains that, as software is a key component of intelligent vehicles, RTMaps is an important driver in the development of algorithms for autonomous driving – from rapid prototyping to deployment on the most recent ECUs. It claims the software significantly simplifies engineers’ efforts to capture, timestamp, synchronize and replay data from various sensors, offering versatility and outstanding performance.
It says that the complementary solutions from Intempora include the data tagging software RTag and its Validation Suite (IVS) – a cloud-based data management platform for petabytes of recorded data and finding relevant test scenarios. This, it says, rounds off the functional scope of its range of products for data-driven development, closing the gap between data recording, data management and software validation.
“We now offer our customers an open, consistent and even higher performance solution that covers the entire AD development process, from datalogging and data enrichment to data replay, scenario generation and simulation,” said Martin Goetzeler, CEO of the dSPACE Group. “Based on our end-to-end competencies, we comprehensively support our customers independent of whether they use our integrated solutions or individual components.”
