DS Automobiles has released an all-new large sedan, the DS 9, with styling nods to the 1950s Citroen DS and the latest autonomous technology.
DS Automobiles, Groupe PSA’s premium brand, says DS Drive Assist gives drivers Level 2 semi-autonomous driving, allowing them to cover distances in the greatest comfort with improved levels of safety.
Speed is controlled according to the surroundings, with multiple sensors positioning the DS 9 precisely in its lane, and is usable up to 111mph depending on local laws.
The speed is controlled by adaptive cruise control linked to a system that controls the power.
Among other things, it can control driving in traffic jams, and restarting the car automatically if it is stopped for less than three seconds.
If stopped for more than three seconds, pressing a button or the accelerator pedal will restart the DS 9.
The DS Drive Assist camera recognizes broken and continuous lines, and constantly analyzes the situation to decide the best actions to apply.
For parking, DS Park Pilot will detect a parking space at speeds of up to 16mph, with the driver indicating on the touchscreen that they want to either bay or parallel park.
The driver keeps the park button pressed, with acceleration, braking and steering being automatically controlled during either entry or exit of the parking space.
