Integrity Security Services (ISS) has announced that it has joined the 5GAA to advance the development of an interoperable security solution for connected vehicle technology. This move will enhance driver safety, support emergency response and streamline traffic flows.
5GAA bridges the automotive and telecommunication industries to address society’s connected mobility needs, bringing inclusive access to smarter, safer and environmentally sustainable services and solutions that can be integrated into intelligent road transportation and traffic management. It unites more than 110 members globally to work on vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communications.
David Sequino, co-founder and CEO of ISS, said, “Providing our market-leading technology and real-world know-how will be indispensable to drive security standards that work across the industry, and we are happy to share our expertise with global auto OEMs and IOOs. We look forward to providing the secure infrastructure needed to transform V2X into a market reality for secure vehicle communications.”
ISS said this work will extend the reach of the ISS Security Credential Management System (SCMS) to enable onboard and roadside equipment to securely communicate with vehicle and smart city infrastructures. As an SCMS provider in North America, the company is well positioned to support 5GAA efforts to accelerate the deployment of V2X technology.
