BrightDrive, a subsidiary of Brightskies specializing in autonomous driving technology, has announced a collaboration with Intempora, a dSpace company and provider of software solutions for automotive embedded systems.
This partnership integrates BrightAnnotate’s annotation algorithms into Intempora’s RTMaps (Real-Time Multisensor applications) middleware, to improve real-time system development and data annotation for AVs.
BrightAnnotate is a semi-automated data annotation AI engine designed to provide ground truth annotations for scenes captured by various sensors. Using deep learning models and manual quality assurance, BrightAnnotate’s four modules cover traffic participants, road models, traffic control information and static environments. It processes data from lidars, 360° cameras, radars and GNSS to ensure accurate annotations for advanced perception systems.
Intempora provides RTMaps, a versatile component-based middleware used to design and execute advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and highly autonomous driving (HAD) software functions. RTMaps has a flexible and scalable software environment optimized for real-time processing of high-bandwidth data from multiple sensors and sources.
Integrating BrightAnnotate into RTMaps enables developers to use the annotation engine through drag-and-drop toolboxes. This integration enhances RTMaps’s data annotation capabilities and accelerates the development of advanced perception algorithms for autonomous driving.
“BrightAnnotate is one of the most advanced semi-automated annotation engines. It enables OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers to develop perception applications for ADAS and autonomous driving to scale their machine-learning activities related to training and validation to levels they could not achieve with manual annotation,” said Hossam Yahia, CEO of BrightDrive.
“The integration of BrightDrive technologies within Intempora software solutions marks an exciting chapter for the automotive industry, added Nicolas du Lac, CEO/CTO at Intempora.
“By combining BrightDrive’s BrightAnnotate algorithms with RTMaps and hence making it available as well as an IVS (Intempora Validation Suite) task, we are opening up opportunities for developers and validation engineers to efficiently automatically annotate their automotive sensor data. This new technological partnership, globally extended with dSpace, will strengthen the automotive industry by providing key enabler tools that will drive our users forward.”
