An update for the DataLynx ATX4 EP4 high performance computer has been announced by B-Plus. The company says the use of an AMD Epyc 9004 (Zen4 Genoa) processor as well as several PCI Express slots increase the computing power and speed whether used directly in the vehicle or in a laboratory. This enables a powerful and long-term application in function development and validation for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) functions for Level 4 and 5.
The company says that with the unit it is now possible to cover three different application areas during a product development timeframe. This includes function development for ECU software, artificial intelligence and prototyping. B-Plus says that the computing power and flexibility of the ATX4 EP4, combined with graphic cards of any performance class, enables operating at the absolute speed maximum. This is ideal for training neural networks and implementing complex algorithms.
Secondly, every new control unit needs to be tested in a vehicle test setup by recording, storing and analyzing running data streams. The ATX4 acts as a reliable logger and data recorder, capturing every single data packet loss-free and time-synchronous. This can improve ADAS capabilities by gaining insights into algorithms and the associated decisions.
Finally, data floods can present challenges, but the unit specifically extracts the most relevant information while creating space for efficient storage and analysis of data. This enables users to focus on the essentials and accelerate development without being slowed down by unnecessary data load.
